Enjoy your fling and enjoy your Summer! I too , have been remembering and connecting with my inner artist/ writer and it feels like “Rip Van Winkle” waking up from a long nap or opening an emotional time capsule. Working on some screenplay ideas I started 20 years ago when I arrived in PR . Appreciate your writing and journey . Gracias for sharing .

The phone, the phone, the phone...I, too, use airplane mode to keep me focused on myself most mornings. I wait til after I've completed my stretching and meditation and one short spiritual reading, to turn on my phone, and then I wait for the dings to come. I'm working with the opposing feelings that arise in me. No dings? "no one needs me?? no ones thinking of me??" Lot's of dings? "Oh my gosh, I don't want to deal with all these texts and voicemails, it's overwhelming!" Hmmm, seems like a lose lose situation and another example of looking outside myself for validation rather than turning within. Still plenty of work to be done here!

My inner artist loves to sing!!

Isn t it amazing that leaving phone on airplane mode or leaving phone home constitutes an act of bravery?

A young poet came to me for writing advice once and said he d spent that whole morning watching how leaves fell from trees in the autumn

I remember wondering uf i d ever have the courage and wisdom to spend time so lavishly

Indeed, a crazy world we're living in. I didn't realize how distracting even the thought that someone Could contact me is!

I remember you sharing this story of the poet... very inspiring.

Thanks as always for your thoughts, Tom
