Since I launched this publication in January, Healing Aloud has brought me so many gifts. I’ve been able to grow through challenges that have kept me from embracing my creativity and claiming my voice for years. Knowing you are reading and hearing your feedback continues to give me confidence, keeps me going.
Most importantly, Healing Aloud has helped me cultivate space in my life for my creativity. To learn how to make it a priority among the endless list of things I could be doing with my time. Having this outlet has helped me stay accountable, to return to my writing even when I don’t feel like it/am not in the mood/am tired/don’t have any ideas.
What I’ve learned is that the creating itself gives me energy; it usually puts me in a better mood; and in showing up, the ideas are able to find me.
Many of you have told me that my posts have inspired you to write more, start sharing your stories — or awoken a desire to do so. Some of you have said you yearn to get back to the writing you set aside, or to recover your voice that’s been stifled by academia, or to share your work with a broader audience.
That has been the most rewarding feedback to receive.
So for months, I’ve been pondering the idea of opening a space to support our writing dreams… and the time has finally arrived! 👏🏼

Many of us have a deep desire to create, to bring our unique expression to the world. But so many things can cause us to turn away from that desire, like:
· widespread undervaluing of creative expression in our culture
· limiting beliefs about ourselves and our capacity
· perceived lack of time
· prioritizing obligations to others over time for ourselves
· perfectionism that can shut us down before we even get started
And yet there is so much power in turning towards, in expressing ourselves, our stories, our truths. It can help us make sense of our experiences and the madness in this world — get it out so it no longer has such a hold on our subconscious (or conscious) minds.
Practicing vulnerability on the page builds our confidence to be seen as we are. Taking the opportunity to be heard gives our words a chance to resonate.
I’m holding these twice weekly workshops first & foremost to give you a low-barrier, meaningful way to show up for your inner creator. Setting aside and hour and a half each week to connect with your creativity is a Big Deal!
I also want to support you in finding strategies to overcome what keeps you stuck/wanting to turn away, and ways to bring more flow and ease into your writing life.
Aaand this is about building a nurturing community where we can share our writing and support each other in creative growth. The women who have expressed interest and helped motivate me to start this (huge shout out to you all!)… omg they are inspiring badasses from all corners of the world. I’m so excited for you to meet each other.

Each week, we’ll work with a theme. Here are some examples:
· Desires, dreams and intentions for your writing

The same class will be offered Tuesday & Thursday, but you’re welcome to come to both sessions each week if you desire.

I’ll leave you with a quote from one of my favorite books on creativity, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert:
“You can measure your worth by your dedication to your path, not by your successes or failures … You can live a long life, making and doing really cool things the entire time. You might earn a living with your pursuits or you might not, but you can recognize that this is not really the point. At the end of your days, you can thank your creativity for having blessed you with a charmed, interesting, passionate experience.”
